Katie is originally from Anderson, South Carolina. She is the eldest of three children and adores her sister, Molly, and brother, Dylan. Her parents, Randy and Sandy, now live in Charleston, South Carolina. Katie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UMass-Lowell. She then attended the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary where she received her Master’s of Divinity in 2017. Katie served as the Director of Children and Youth Ministries at the First Presbyterian Church of Cartersville, Georgia. She also served as a chaplain for the Cherokee County Fire Department in the Metro Atlanta area. Most recently, Katie served as Associate Pastor of Youth and Young Adults at the Lower Providence Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Katie has been married to her husband, Brent, since 2005. Together they have three sons: twins Gage and Cole (born in 2006), and Jonah (born in 2009) and one daughter Kacey (born in 2001). Katie is a huge sports fan; especially of the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs) and the Atlanta Braves. But she can be persuaded to cheer on the Eagles! She also enjoys being outdoors, rock climbing, reading, and all things Star Wars.

Rachelle Cekander

Rachelle served as Music Director for Dieterich Unit 30 schools for over twenty years. Additionally, she has directed and participated in numerous musical and theatrical community events. Rachelle invites anyone, of any age and ability, to share their musical gifts in worship and church events. Please contact her if interested.

Dan Kingery
Youth Director

Dan is also the Director of Camp Carew, the Presbytery of Southeastern Illinois' camp nine miles south of Carbondale, Illinois. Dan has extensive experience working with youth. Currently the youth groups are planning special fund-raising activities for mission, trips and events. Dan invites all area youth to come and join our Youth Groups. Please check the calendar for scheduled meetings and activities.

Debbie Nolan
Office Administrator

Debbie joined our staff in 2021 as the office administrator. She originally grew up and raised her family in Alton, Illinois. In 2017, after retiring from The Boeing company of 37 years as the HR Director, she and her husband decided to spread their wings and now call Effingham home. She is married to her husband Steve of 38 years and together, they have three wonderful daughters. They enjoy spending most of their free time with their six grandchildren.
